Sweet Musette

A short hiatus to deal with the world and have a little trip to see some family had me returning to the brushes missing my irises. The selected bloom this time is called Sweet Musette.

These blooms are a great subject to explore brush and paint technique and I'm learning a lot by working on them. It seems that some others are enjoying them as well with a couple of them finding new homes.

This is beautiful Mick. You work with this subject very well-always a pleasure to see your Irises. The colors are all just perfect together. Can you tell me what that ivory like color around the center is that you have used?

Nice subtle colouring and showing real improvement over previous ones. Just shows that concentrated effort is the way to improve.

Sophia - Thanks a lot. The colour around the centre is Quinacridone Gold and some Quinacridone Gold Deep in parts.

The best yet Mick. I like the graduated colours in the falls.
