Opportunity Knocks

Sitting in my room last weekend down in Norfolk having spent a hard day at the Norfolk Painting School I felt the need to relax a little or have a lie down and risk staying there till the next morning. I decided that a little watercolour work might keep me awake and get me in the mood to head out for an evening meal.

In the lounge of the digs I had spotted an interesting piece of porcelain and set it up on a table with a small vase of flowers. My palette box was sitting in front of the objects and demanded to be part of the composition so I stuck a brush in there as well. The effort did the trick and I was ready to eat once it was complete.

Mick, I like this, it's very soft and clean. Sounds like you had a great time at the painting school.

Hi Mick great to see your latest still life watercolour painting. It is a real gem you do these still life paintings so perfectly. I hope you are feeling more relaxed and really to paint again soon.

Caroline - Thanks again for all your encouragement. I'm getting back into the groove again just in time for the holiday season to get in the way, but there will be a small watercolour box in the luggage.

Love the paint box! The rest of the painting frames it nicely! Your consistent observation is paying you back now.

Dan - Cheers. That paintbox is one of my favourite bits of kit. It's a hand made job by a guy called Craig Young and it fits into the pocket. Thanks for our help and kindness.
